About TU CODL-Tezpur University Distance Learning

TU CODL Tezpur University’s Centre for Open and Distance Learning was established in the year 2011 with the aim of disseminating knowledge and imparting quality education through open and distance learning mode. TU CODL Tezpur University is located in Nopaam, Tezpur. For your information, let me tell you CODL is renaming as CDOE, Tezpur University.

Tezpur University Distance Learning (TU CODL) offers various degree and diploma programs at the postgraduate level. The applications form for CODL can be filled online at a payment of INR 500/-(INR 250/- For SC/ST).

How to Apply Online Application For CODL Center for Open and Distance Learning Tezpur University

Any candidate who wants to get admission to CODL Center for Open and Distance Learning, Tezpur University, Nopaam, can visit the official website of CODL and fill the online application by himself/Herself. To fill the application form correctly you must follow the procedure given below.

  1. At first, you need to visit the official website of Tezpur University (www.tezu.ernet.in)
  2. Then select CODL online admission portal.
  3. Register yourself by filling in your name, date of birth, email id, and mobile number.
  4. Provide a password, upload a photograph & signature, and click on the ‘Register’ button to complete part 1 of the application process.
  5. Now login to your account and get access to the online application form.
  6. Fill up the online application form, upload photographs, scanned copies of certificate, mark sheets, and identity documents, and submit.
  7. You to pay the fees of INR 500/- for gen candidates and  Rs.250/- for SC/ST
  8. Pay online through Paytm, Debit Card, Credit Card.

General

1. Can CDOE learners apply for Convocation?

Yes, learners after completed degree can attend Convocation as per university rules.

2. Are the programmes under CDOE recognized by UGC?

Yes, all the Masters programmes under CDOE are recognized by UGC.

3 . Can I get refund of the fees if I wish to discontinue the course?.

Half of the Programme Fee will be refunded to the candidate if he/she withdraws his/her admission from the programme and claims refund before the closing date of the admission for the session

4. Can the admission fees be paid in installments?

Yes, the admission fees can be paid in installments.

Admission Related

1. When does the admission process start?

The admission process usually starts in the month of November for Spring session and in May for Autumn semester.

2. What is the mode of admission?

The admission process can be done in online mode only.

3. What are the programmes available in CDOE?

Following Programmes are on Offer-
• MA in Mass Communication
• MA in English
• MA in Sociology
• PG Diploma in Human Resource Management
• PG Diploma in Renewable Energy and Energy Management
• PG Diploma in Environmental and Disaster Management.

4. How can the admission fees be paid?

The admission fees can only be paid in online mode (Debit card/ credit card/ net banking) during the time of admission or installment basis.

5. When will we receive the study materials?

Learners shall receive their study materials in the months of February and July for Spring and Autumn semesters respectively.

6. Who should we contact if we do not receive the SLMs in time?

In case a learner does not receive his/ her SLMs in time, he/ she can write a mail to codl@tezu.ernet.in or call at 03712-275350.

Counselling sessions:

1. When do the counselling sessions take place?

The counselling classes usually take place in the month of October for Autumn Semester and in the month of April for Spring semester.

2. How will we get the information regarding counselling sessions?

The notification regarding the counselling classes shall be uploaded in the website of CODL from time to time. Learners are requested to visit the website regularly.

3. Is it compulsory to attend the counselling sessions?

No it is not compulsory to attend the counselling sessions.

4. Are the counselling sessions held only in Tezpur University campus?

Counselling sessions can be held in all the study centres provided the number of learners who have registered is a minimum of ten. However, if there is no sufficient number of registered learners, the counselling session shall only be held in Tezpur University.

5. Will accommodation be provided while our stay during counselling sessions?

Accommodation may be provided subject to availability of seats in hostels/ guest house on payment of normal charge.

Examination:

1. Do we need to pay examination fees?

Yes, Rs. 500 per subject/course shall be paid as examination fees. The fee is subject to change.

2. Can we appear for examination without submitting the assignment for the course?

No, submission of assignments is compulsory for being eligible to appear in the examination.

3. When do the examinations take place?

The examinations usually take place in the months of December and June.

5. Can I appear for examination from another state?

No, a learner can only appear for examination from Assam.

6. Can I appear for the examination of two semesters at the same time?

Yes, learners can appear for examinations of two semesters at a time. However, CDOE will not be responsible if two examinations clash while preparing the schedule.
